Barrier Air policies during NZ Covid-19 Alert Level Restrictions

New Zealand is currently under varying Alert Levels due to the current outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. While this is in effect Barrier Air is operating with the capacities and procedures as detailed below.

What to expect at Alert Level 3

As per current Ministry of Health guidelines Barrier Air requires the following procedures and protocols to be followed at all times when utilising our services:

  • Evidence of confirmed booking (E-ticket) will be required to enter Auckland Airport. This will be via Door 3 only.
  • Physical distancing must be observed at check-in, and on approaching the Barrier Air counter.
  • Scanning of location QR code is strongly recommended at all Barrier Air check-in counters.
  • Masks are mandatory on all flights operated by Barrier Air, from the time passing through the boarding gates until off the premises at the destination.
  • Restricted services when Alert Levels vary between departure point and destination point.
  • All flights will be operating at reduced seating capacity to allow for social distancing on board.
  • All Barrier Air aircraft will be cleaned/disinfected between each flight.

What to expect at Alert Level 2

When the country has dropped to Alert Level 2 throughout Barrier Air will be operating to the following procedures:

  • Evidence of confirmed booking (E-ticket) will be required to enter Auckland Airport. This will be via Door 3 only.
  • Physical distancing must be observed at check-in, and on approaching the Barrier Air counter.
  • Scanning of location QR code is strongly recommended at all Barrier Air check-in counters.
  • Masks are mandatory on all flights operated by Barrier Air, from the time passing through the boarding gates until off the premises at the destination.
  • All Barrier Air aircraft will be cleaned/disinfected between each flight.

 

Current Schedules and Services

Great Barrier

During Alert Level 3 travel to/from Great Barrier is restricted to essential workers, and those approved by the Emergency Response Team.

All bookings through Barrier Air will be referred to the Emergency Response Team for approval.

Bookings made through Aotea Health are deemed to have Emergency Response Team approval.

Kaitaia

Barrier Air services to Kaitaia will resume once Auckland returns to Level 2.

North Shore

Barrier Air services from Great Barrier to North Shore will resume once Auckland returns to Level 2.

Whitianga

Barrier Air’s scheduled service is all on track to commence from December 16th this year.
